The 1336-BDB-SP13C is designed for various Allen-Bradley drives which include 1336 PLUS, Force, and impact series adjustable frequency alternating current. These spare parts are designed to provide control signal and amplification for the 1336 series alternating current. The 1336-BDB-SP13C module gate drive helps to switch the host industrial alternating current drive. This function enables the use of low power signals and increases the low power to a higher level to allow the brakes to switch.

The maximum permitted operating temperature varies from one drive to the other. The 1336 FORCE drives are equipped with a metal oxide varistor which provides voltage surge protection and phase to phase, as well as phase to ground, protection. This applies to an ungrounded distribution system. This spare part drive does not provide input power short circuit fusing, therefore the recommended fuse size and type to provide drive input power protection against short circuit are essential.

Arrangement of power and ground connection to the drive must be done carefully so that interference with other sensitive equipment is prevented. Generation of severe electrical transients may occur so to prevent it coils of direct current energized contactors associated with the drive are suppressed with either a diode or similar device. During the installation of the drive, a filter is recommended to be installed in the same mounting plate.

The appropriate ground connection is advised to prevent ground leakage currents. To avoid interference, shielded wires are recommended in control circuits. The minimum size of a conductor should be 16 American Wire Gauge (AWG).
