The 20-750-S, which was created and produced by Allen Bradley, is a Safe Torque-Off Option Module for use with the PowerFlex 750 Series AC Drive. During normal operation, 24V DC is supplied to the Safe Torque-Off Option Module's safety power and safety enabled inputs. As a result of de-energizing, the outputs of the gate control driver IC are disabled, and the IGBT is prevented from firing. It will be indicated by parameter 933 that the IGBTs are inhibited, and the HIM will indicate that the drive is not operational.
This device, in combination with additional safety devices, may be used to fulfill the requirements of IEC 61508, IEC 61800-5-2 SIL 3, ISO 13849-1 PL e, and Category 3 for Safe Torque Off, which includes IEC 61508, IEC 61800-5-2 SIL 3, and Category 3 for Safe Torque Off. Installation must be carried out in accordance with the phases mentioned below, and it must be done by competent individuals at all times. It is designed to be used as an element of a machine's security control system when the Safe Torque Off choice is enabled on the machine. Prior to installation, a risk assessment might be carried out where the Safe Torque Off option characteristics are compared to all expected operating and environmental elements of the machine where the Safe Torque Off options is to be installed. The Safe Torque Off feature is only one component of a complete safety control system. To achieve the required degree of operational safety, it is necessary to choose and apply the relevant components across the system.
