The 22-COMM-E is an optional communication adapter that is for PowerFlex 4, PowerFlex 40, and PowerFlex 400 adjustable frequency drives. This communication adapter unit is used for connecting the drive to Ethernet I/P, supporting various communication rates like 10 Mbps full duplex, 10 Mbps half-duplex, 100 Mbps full duplex, and 100 Mbps half duplex. The optional communication adapter also complies with regulations like UL UL508C, CE EN50178, and C-Tick AS/NZS 2064, G1 Class A.

The 22-COMM-E communication adapter has embedded web pages that are designed to display sets of information regarding communication adapter, linked adjustable AC drive, and DSI attached DSI tools. It also supports setting up of email messaging to specific addresses when selected drive fault occurs or fault cleared and when adapter takes a communication or idle fault action. It also featured LED indicators that help in indicating the status of Ethernet connection and DSI functionality with adaptor function status. It has a DSI connector that is a 20-Pin male header with an internal interface cable for linking to the connector.
