The Allen-Bradley 22-COMM-P is a Profibus Communication Adapter that can be employed with PowerFlex 4, 40, and 400 AC drives. This device contains a DSI connector that has a 20-pin single-row male header. The communication module includes also a 9-pin female D-sub connector for Profibus communication. The 22-COMM-P contains a node address switch from SW1 to SW7 to configure the node addresses. This device includes three (3) LED indicators to show the network and communication status. This Profibus adapter offers a communication rate from 9.6 Kilobits per second to 12 Megabits per second with an auto baud rate selection. The device draws a backplane current of 370 milliamperes at a voltage of 5 Volts DC.

The 22-COMM-P supports a non-condensing relative humidity range from 5% to 95% and a vibration frequency range from 10 to 500 Hertz. The module has an operating specification for the mechanical shock level of 15 g. The adapter has also a storage specification for the mechanical shock level of 30 g. The 22-COMM-P can be stored in a safe environment that shouldn’t be full of condensation or corrosive at a temperature from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius (-40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit). This adapter can be easily installed on the Powerflex drives. The 22-COMM-P operates at a temperature range from -10 to 50 degrees Celsius (14 to 149 degrees Fahrenheit) and weighs approximately 57 grams (0.13 pounds) while shipping.
