The Rockwell Automation PowerFlex 523 series adjustable frequency AC drive has a voltage rating of 480 Volts AC with 3 phases. The output current rating is 13 Amperes and frame size is C. The normal and heavy duty power output is 7.5 horsepower (5.5 Kilowatts). The drive has an IP20 NEMA open-type enclosure. The input voltage variation of 323 to 528 Volts is allowable and the power input is 14.1 kilovolt-Amperes with a maximum current input of 15.4 Amperes. The fuse rating is 20 to 35 and power loss through the open enclosure is 170 Watts. The output voltage range is 0 to 460 Volts with 3 phases. The output frequency is programmable in the range of 0 to 500 Hertz and efficiency is typically 97.5%. The digital control input current is 6 milliamperes and voltage is 18 to 24 Volts for source mode and 0 to 6 Volts for sink mode for ON status, and it reverses for OFF status. The analog control input is 4 to 20 milliamperes with a 250 ohm impedance and 0 to 10 Volts DC with 100 kilo-ohm impedance. It has an external potentiometer of range 1 to 10 kilo-ohms with 2 Watts of minimum power consumption. The recommended fuse type is UL Class CC, J, T, or Type BS88 at a voltage of 600 Volts (550 Volts) or similar. The recommended circuit breaker is HMCP or similar. The control output includes a programmable relay form C with a resistive rating of 3 Amperes at 30 Volts DC, 125 Volts AC, and 240 Volts AC, and an inductive rating of 0.5 Amperes at the same voltages.
