The SMC Plus series is a series of Allen-Bradley smart motor controllers. The SMC Plus series features units that are developed to ensure application scalability and they are built to ensure minimal energy costs. They feature simple controls for application starting and stopping. The SMC Plus controllers are performance models that come with motor protection and ensure an easy programmability process. The SMC Plus series controllers come with a line voltage that ranges from 200 to 600 Volts and they are available in enclosed and open designs. These controllers have different models that effectively control different motors with varying Horsepower and current values. The SMC Plus motor controllers are designed to provide various operation modes. These include the soft start with selectable kickstart, the current limit start, the dual ramp start, and the full voltage Start. The SMC Plus series controllers feature undervoltage protection. The undervoltage protection feature ensures that the SMC Plus controllers have the ability to halt motor operation if there is a drop in the incoming line voltage. To ensure the elimination of nuisance trips, the SMC Plus controllers feature programmable undervoltage trip delay times. The SMC Plus controllers also come with the current sensing capability that is disabled during the bypass operation. These units also support the SMC dialog plus controllers for allowing the users to program the allowed number of starts per hour. The SMC Plus controllers feature motor thermal capacity use that allows the users to easily monitor the amount of overload thermal capacity. The SMC Plus controllers also support a built-in SCANPort communication option.

The SMC-Flex series is a series of Allen-Bradley low-voltage soft starters. The SMC-Flex series features soft starters with a current range from 5 Amps to 1250 Amps. This series of soft motor starters come with integral bypasses and the starters are designed to provide the users with flexible communication for delivering advanced performance and diagnostics. The SMC-Flex series starters come with modular designs for featuring an advanced level of intelligence. Therefore, the soft starters under the SMC-Flex series deliver high levels of protection. The units feature removable control modules that are used for configuring the units and providing monitoring functionalities. The SMC-Flex starters are cost-effective packages that are designed to ensure that all the application demands are met. The SMC-Flex starters feature simplified installation and maintenance processes, and they come with built-in LCDs with supported keypads, and optional PC software setup. The SMC-Flex series soft starters also come with integrated bypasses, and 9 start/stop modes. The SMC-Flex series features full metering and diagnostics capabilities. The integrated bypass ensures that the SMC-Flex starters can close automatically when the motors reach their nominal operating speeds. This ensures minimal heat generation, and it has a significant effect when it comes to ensuring minimal operational costs. The SMC-Flex starters come with the feed-through wiring and a power pole on the front of the module. For drive communication, the units feature optional communication modules that are designed to allow the units to have the ability to connect to multiple networks. The supported communication options include the common DPI modules, and the EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet, and other communication protocols.
