The Allen-Bradley 2711-K6C20L1 is a user-controlled electronic terminal that serves as an effective and versatile human-machine interface (HMI). The terminal supports an Ethernet/IP network which can be used to send instructions and relay I/O messages to remote devices. This network offers the user a greater degree of control over applications and adds flexibility to the control system. An Ethernet connector can be used in conjunction with the package to facilitate a connection between the operator terminal and the devices used in the control system. The terminal’s internal application flash memory is 240 kilobytes, and its storage capacity can be accentuated by using an external memory device such as a memory card. A memory card slot is provided on the device and can be used to house memory cards to transfer files from the PanelView terminal. A keypad is provided on the terminal to allow the user to input instructions, data, and information into the control system. The terminal is installed in an enclosure and suitable cut-outs can be made on the panel to ensure space and ease of use. Adequate space must be maintained to ensure ventilation, ease of maintenance and legend strip installation. A configuration mode menu is built into the terminal setup and allows the user a greater deal of flexibility and machine control. The configuration mode menu also has two status indicators which indicate the terminal’s operating state.
