The Allen-Bradley 2711-K6C8L1 is a terminal that can be used for a versatile array of functions and applications. The terminal can communicate with remote devices over a DH+ network. A standard RS-232 port is provided on the terminal to facilitate easy and effective communication. The keypad can be used by the operator to send messages and relay instructions to device used in the control system. The entries into the keypad can be in the form of alphanumeric characters, decimals and negative values, ASCII characters and variables. A non-volatile user memory of 240 kilobytes can be used to save and transfer files as per the user’s requirement. Wiring and safety guidelines must be followed during terminal configuration and setup to prevent hazards and ensure a safe working environment. With the RS-232 port configured to a DH+ network, the terminal can be used to initiate and trigger functions of the devices within the control system, thus resulting in an effective communication channel between the user and the system.
