The Allen-Bradley 2711-T6C15L1 terminal is a part of Rockwell Automation’s PanelView 600 series and is a highly effective means of establishing a communication channel between a user and the system in use. The terminal uses an RS-232 printer port to communicate with remote I/O devices such as printers and scanners. The functions of these devices can be triggered directly from the terminal by setting up applications during the configuration of the terminal. The cutting edge technology used by the terminal’s communication networks allows the user to seamlessly communicate with the components in the system. A keypad is provided to enable the user to easily provide inputs and messages to the system. The 2711-T6C15L1 terminal uses a ControlNet network to establish an efficient communication channel between the user and the system. The communication network can be configured during the terminal setup. The terminal is mounted in an enclosure with adequate space and ventilation provided to ensure ease of maintenance. A non-volatile internal flash application memory of 240 kilobytes enables the terminal to store information during the functioning of the system. The terminal is also compatible with an external memory card and a slot is provided in the terminal to house the external card. The memory card can be used to store and transfer additional information and data to and from the terminal. The storage capabilities of the terminal make it highly robust and versatile and allow the user to implement the functions of the terminal in a wide array of applications.
