The Allen-Bradley 2711-T6C2L1 terminal is an operator panel that can be used for a wide variety of industrial processes and automation systems. The panel allows the user to communicate with the FlexLogix, CompactLogix, and MicroLogix over a network established by the terminals. The network is responsible for the relay and transfer of messages and instructions from the user to the components within the system. The operator panel can be stored and operated at a maximum ambient temperature of 55 degrees Celsius. A DH-485 network can be configured to establish the terminal’s network. The RS-232 port can be used to configure the terminal in accordance with the network. In addition to the port provided for the DH-485 network, an additional printer port is also provided in order to establish contact and connect with remote I/O devices such as printers and scanners. The 2711-T6C2L1 terminal possesses cutting-edge technology and creates an interface between various components and subsystems. Push buttons are provided on the terminal device and can be used to control the status of functions on the operator panel. A similar function can be performed by using control lists. The control lists can be activated by using the touch screen of the operator panel and specific functions of the terminal can be highlighted depending on the application being used. Cursors can also be used to toggle between different items in the control list and select a variety of options. Some items on the list can also be deemed as inactive under specific conditions as a preventive measure to increase the safety of the working environment in the system.
