The PanelView 1200 terminal, 2711-TA1, offers a quick, simple, versatile, and inexpensive operator interface for a PLC system. It is an excellent substitute for standard control panels. It comes fully assembled and ready to mount in a control panel cut-out or 19-inch rack. It communicates with any Allen-Bradley Remote I/O connection directly. This PanelView device features a 12-inch monochromatic CRT (cathode ray tube) display. It has a normal size character of 24 rows x 80 columns, user-configurable screen saver and display alignment, amber foreground, and black background. Operators register inputs with the touch screen, enabling the operator to perform the required task by tapping the screen directly. The touch screen has 120 touch cells, each cell is eight characters wide and two characters high. The touch screen has a actuation rating of 1 million presses.  The terminal features an RS-232 port that may be linked to the development system to upload/download program files, or it can be attached to a printer to print screen photos, reports, or alarm messages. The 2711-TA1 also comes with an alarm relay, which may be used to initiate a warning light or remote alarm under certain situations. The remote input/output connector on the rear of the terminal links the terminal to the host PLC controller via the Remote I/O link. It has battery-backed RAM that may hold 64,000 bytes of standard user memory. For application file backup, you can install an extra EPROM. An additional EEPROM can be installed for either applications backup or 64,000 bytes of additional app RAM (raising the total accessible RAM to 128,000 bytes). The terminal needs a switching power source with an AC voltage rating of 90 to 132 or 180 to 264 volts (automatic identification by terminal), a frequency of 47 to 63 hertz, and a power output of 50 watts. It is a clip-mounted terminal and meets the NEMA 12 standard.
