The 2711P-RDB15C display module is intended to be used with PanelView Plus - 1500 and PanelView Plus 6 - 1500 Human-Machine Interface (HMI) terminals. The module packs a 15-inch active color matrix type display with a peak brightness of 300 Candela per square Metre (cd/m2) Nits. The display uses light-emitting diode (LED) backlight technology. There are some earlier 2711P-RDB15Cs, those featured cold-cathode fluorescent lamp (CCFL) backlight type displays. The display is easily replaceable with the 2711P-RL15C replacement color backlight. The display comes with a color option and is capable of producing 262000 (262k), 18-bit colors at a pixel resolution of 1024 x 768. The display has an eight-wire resistive touch screen which is extremely accurate for operator interfaces. When a point on the touch screen is pressed, the layers connect and change the electrical current, which is then registered and processed. The touch screen may be operated with a finger, gloved finger, or plastic stylus device with a minimum tip radius of 1.3 mm (0.051 in.). The screen is tested to withstand 1 million presses at an operating force from 10 to 110 grams (g). The default factory configuration of the 2711P-RDB15C display module does not include screen antiglare overlay, but there is an option to use one if required. The 2711P-RGK15 antiglare overlay can be used with the display module. The display bezel is also field-replaceable with the 2711P-RBB15 replacement bezel. The keypad of the module consists of 40 programmable function keys, 10 numeric keys, 4 navigation keys, and 10 other command keys. The keys are tested to withstand 1 million presses at an operating force from 340 grams (g). Custom function key labels can be added with the module through the 2711P-RFK15 replacement legend strip.
