The 2711P-T6M5D 600 terminal creates human machine interface (HMI) programs. It has a 5.5 inches diagonal grayscale passive matrix LCD. The terminal also employs film compensated super-twisted nematic (FSTN) fabrication technology. It has a display mode of 320 pixels by 240 pixels and a standard brightness of 300 candelas. The module covers a total area of 10.47 x 6.58 inches, and an area of 4.4  x 3.3-inches is taken by the display. The terminal offers the user a touch screen interface to insert data. A lithium battery powers up the terminal but it can not be replaced and has a limited life span of approximately five years. The nature of the battery is direct current (DC) and normally supplies around 24 volts, but the allowed input voltage is a minimum of 18 volts and a maximum of 30 volts. The 2711P-T6M5D usually draws 1 ampere of current at 24 volts and a maximum of 25 watts. The terminal includes a base unit with one RS-232 serial communication connector and one USB port for linking the peripheral devices. RS-232 offers point-to-point or network transfers and interfaces to SLC 500 or MicroLogix processors. The 2711P-T6M5D integrates the central processing unit (CPU) with a clock speed of 350 MHz. The terminal also offers an internal storage of 64 MB and static DRAM of 64 MB. It has a CF ( Compact Flash, type 2 ) slot to add 512 MB of external storage.
