Part number MPL-B420F-M-X226 was designed by Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation to provide a high-output compact drive with high toque for driving electric cylinders. As a replacement part for MP-Series B and C electric cylinders, this motor has a frame size of 115 millimeters, is fitted with a multi-turn 1024 sin/cos encoder with absolute feedback and has a high torque to size ratio. This replacement motor has radial load force rating of 78 kilograms at 1000 revolutions per minute (rpm), 62 kilograms at 2000 rpm, 51 kilograms at 3500 rpm, and 45 kilograms at 5000 rpm. Also, MPL-B420 motors have a maximum radial load rating of 36 kilograms at 1000 revolutions per minute (rpm), 27 kilograms at 2000 rpm, 21 kilograms at 3500 rpm, and 18 kilograms at 5000 rpm.

The Allen Bradley MPL-B420F-M-X226 has a maximum backlash of 37 arc minutes, a brake holding torque rating of 10.2 Newton-meters (Nm), a rated coil current of 0.576 to 0.74 amperes at 24 volts DC (direct current), a brake release response time of 110 milliseconds, as well as a brake engage response time of 25 milliseconds when using a MOV mechanism and 160 milliseconds when using a diode mechanism. This device has a brake rotor inertia of 0.00030 kg-m². This motor is equipped with high-energy, rare-earth magnets, as well as a shaft end threaded hole and 180-degree rotatable DIN connectors.
