The MPL-B540K-MK72AA is an Allen-Brandley MP-series premium brushless high output permanent-magnet rotary servo motor with low inertia. The motor benefits from novel engineering that makes it compact while maintaining high torque rating. These motors are designed to work with high performance motion systems. This 400 Volt voltage-class motor has a frame size of 165 millimeters and an rpm rating of 4000 rpm. The rated output is 5.4 kiloWatts and rotor inertia is 0.00147 kilogram - square meter or 0.013 pounds-inch-square seconds. The continuous stall torque rating is 19.4 Newton meter or 172 pounds inches while the peak stall torque is 48.6 Newton meter or 430 pounds inches. The continuous stall current is 20.5 amps and peak stall current is 60.0 amps. The motor comes equipped with a multi-turn high resolution encoder. It does not have shaft key or seal and brake. The connections are circular DIN type, right angle and 180° rotatable. This provides flexibility in orientation of connectors.

The SpeedTEC DIN connectors are 90 degree turn connections therefore fast and easy. The connectors are UL-listed, NFPA 79 compliant and have 600 V insulating rating. The mounting flange is IEC metric and there is no additional hazardous area classification rating. The motor can be connected with power, feedback and brake cables based on additional options. The cables can be standard or continuously flexing and up to 90 meters in length. The motor has operating temperature range of 0 to 40 degrees Celsius (32 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit) and storage temperature range of -30 to 70 degrees Celsius (-22 to 158 degrees Fahrenheit) with relative humidity of 5 to 95% noncondensing and noncorrosive atmosphere.
