Part number 1734-TB3S was designed and manufactured by Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation and is an input / output terminal base assembly which connects transmitters and switches, as well as automation sensors, to a POINT input / output system. The supply voltage is restricted to three hundred (300) volts, and the terminal current rating is limited to ten (10) amperes. This Allen Bradley module has a power bus supply voltage of 28.8 volts direct current (DC) and 120 to 240 volts alternating current (AC). This kit includes a spring-clamp removable terminal block, or otherwise known as an RTB, along with a mounting base and mechanical key system and a DIN-rail locking screw, as well as interlocking side pieces.

There are twelve terminals on the base assembly and the backplane incorporates power and communication lines. This unit's wire size ranges from 0.34 to 2.1 mm, or 22 to 14 AWG. Additionally, the module has mechanical key number system that acts as a guide for correctly connecting modules. To connect the terminal base assembly to the POINT I/O, no tools are required. The RTB can be replaced with the 1734-RTB3S unit code, and once the RTB is wired, the terminals do not need to be rewired.

The terminal block can be disassembled from the I/O modules and the base, allowing for a simple disassembly process without the need to disconnect any wires and the POINT Input or output system includes DIN-rail grounding. It is highly recommended by Allen Bradley for operators to use zinc-plated yellow chromate steel DIN-rails for secure grounding. Furthermore, this module has an approximate weight of 87 grams, or the equivalent of 3.07 ounces. The physical dimensions of this module measure 65 mm x 12 mm x 160 mm, or 2.56 inches x 0.472 inches x 6.25 inches.
