The 1734D-IB16 belongs to the POINT I/O 1734 series of modules. This series includes modules that are especially built to be used with I/O products. Users can add as many as 12 additional POINT I/O units with this industrial module. 

The Allen Bradley 1734D-IB16 features cage-clamp terminations. It is essentially a module that helps with establishing a non-isolated DeviceNet communication interface. This device requires a power supply capable of supplying 24 volts DC power. It comes equipped with a non-isolated AC/DC converter. This converter can generate +5 volts of direct current. Using this power, this module can power POINTBlock industry electronics. To power the connected expansion I/O modules, users can use the PointBus port.
