The Allen Bradley 1745-C1 is a programmer interconnect cable for SLC 150 processors. This accessory belongs to the 1745 Bulletin. It is a 6 ft (1.8 meters) cable processed along with SLC series peripheral devices.
The major function of this cable is to provide the interface to the peripheral devices, for example, Pocket Programmers, interface converters, timer counter access terminals to the processor's unit. The 1745 cable connectors are keyed to guard against improper insertion. For example, one end of the cable comes with a plastic shrouded covering part of the connection plug. Hence users should keep the plastic shrouded end of the cable attached to the peripheral devices at all times.
Additionally, for the cable replacement, users should first remove the cable from the processor unit, press the release button on the cable plug, and gently remove the plug from the socket. Similarly, to remove the cable from the attached peripheral devices, users should first lift and twist the plastic shroud to expose the release mechanisms. It is instructed that users should not force the cable as it might damage the cable or set a poor alignment in both cases. The chances of wiring errors are more likely to occur. So proper precautions are always instructed, such as following the configuration guidelines. Similarly, the configuration of this cable to the PLC peripheral devices must be carried out only by the skilled personnel to prevent errors that might cause malfunctions. Aside from that, it is worth noting that the manufacturer has currently discontinued this product.
