The Allen-Bradley 1746-BAS-T is an SLC Basic Module that is an integral part of Rockwell Automation’s SLC 500 Series of modules. The 1746-BAS-T module is a high-speed version of the 1746-BAS module with identical hardware features. The modules can be interchanged while keeping in mind that the 1746-BAS-T module uses different optional memory modules. The modules have an integrated debugging environment and operator interface capabilities. The device offers flexible program and data storage options. It also features a battery-backed, 24-hour clock and a calendar. It features two isolated 9-pin D-shell serial ports (PRT1 and PRT2) that provide RS-232/423, RS-422, and RS-485 communication with I/O devices. The module also has one PRT2 port provides DF1 full-duplex or half-duplex slave protocol for SCADA applications. It features 8 LED indicators which can be used to effectively monitor the operations of the module.

The power supply loading of the Allen-Bradley 1746-BAS-T is 0.15 amperes at 5 volts of direct current. The power supply loading is 0.07 amperes at 24 volts of direct current. This module can withstand a high degree of shock and vibration and can be used in a variety of industrial environments. The operating temperature of the module ranges from -25° Celsius to 60° Celsius and the storage temperature ranges from -40° Celsius to 85° Celsius at a relative humidity of 5% to 95% without condensation. It also has an SLC 500 backplane data read-and-write support feature that includes image table transfers and M0 and M1 file transfers. It also supports string manipulation as well as the execution of programs from memory modules.
