The 1746-OA16 is a Digital AC Output Module manufactured by Allen Bradley/Rockwell Automation as part of the SLC 500 series, and it operates on an input voltage of 85 – 265 volts AC at a frequency 47 – 63 hertz. This module has 16 outputs on 8 points per common group. It operates on a backplane current load of 0.37 amperes at 5 volts DC with a maximum signal delay of 1 millisecond when it’s in ON-state and 11 milliseconds for OFF-state. The 1746-OA16 module features a maximum continuous current of 0.5 amperes per point and 8 amperes per module at 30 degrees Celsius as well as of 0.25 amperes per point and 4 amperes per module at 60 degrees Celsius. This module is designed for general-purpose use with SLC 500 systems of 120 – 240 volts AC of outputs. It collects and stores analog data that is digitally-converted in the data image table from which it is retrievable by all the fixed and modular SLC 500 processors. Additionally, it supports the connections up to 8 actuators or sensors. Allen Bradley 1746-OA16 Digital AC Output Module comes with detachable terminal blocks that can eliminate the need for disconnecting wires when replacing any module. It also comes with a filter circuitry as well as an optical coupling for the reduction of signal noise. The output values of this module can be accessed through the SLC 500 processors by using the Ladder Logic. For troubleshooting, it’s even easier with the LED indicators which show the output status values. The 1746-OA16 module is designed and intended for use in environments with a temperature range of 0 – 60 degrees and non-condensing relative humidity of 5 – 95 percent.

The Allen-Bradley 1746-OA16 Digital AC Output Module is equipped with a NEMA standard ICS 2-230 to combat noise and offer a quieter output.
