The Allen-Bradley 1746-OX8 is a digital output module that has eight (8) high-current NO relay contact outputs. The relay contact outputs operate with a voltage range from either 5 Volts DC to 125 Volts DC or 5 Volts AC to 265 Volts AC at a frequency range from 47 to 63 Hertz. These isolated outputs offer a relay contact current for make and break of 30 Amperes at a voltage of 120 Volts AC and 1.5 Amperes break and 15 Amperes make at a voltage of 240 Volts AC. The outputs offer also a relay contact current for make and break of 220 milliamperes at a voltage of 125 Volts DC and 1.2 Amperes at a voltage of 24 Volts DC. This module can be employed with an SLC 500 to process digital signals. The 1746-OX8 draws a backplane current of 85 milliamperes at 5 Volts DC and 90 milliamperes at 24 Volts DC. The module delivers an output current of 3 Amperes at 120 Volts AC and 1.2 Amperes at 24 Volts DC.

This digital module provides a power consumption of 825 milliwatts per point and a total power consumption of 8.6 Watts. The 1746-OX8 provides a delay time of 10 milliseconds for the on state and 10 milliseconds for the off state on the outputs. This module has LED indicators to show the module and output points status and to help the troubleshooting process when issues occur. The 1746-OX8 employs the backplane optical isolation provided by optocouplers to offer electrical isolation of 1500 Volts AC between the control logic and output points. This device is a single slot module that can be mounted on an SLC 500 chassis slot and provides the NEMA standard for noise immunity. The 1746-OX8 contains an open-type enclosure. This digital device operates at a temperature range of zero (0) to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) and weighs approximately 230 grams (0.51 pounds) while shipping.
