The Spectrum Controls 1746sc-INO4I is an analog current-only output module manufactured by Rockwell Automation for use in a single slot of the 1746 Input/Output (I/O) chassis. The Spectrum Controls 1746sc-INO4I analog current-only output module possesses 4 outputs of the isolated-channel type. This output module’s current draw is 120 milliamperes at a DC power supply of 5 Volts from the backplane. In order to reduce the backplane current load, the Spectrum Controls 1746sc-INO4I analog current-only output module can also interface with external power supplying DC electricity at 24 Volts. This setting is configured on the module by way of a DIP switch which determines the source of the module’s power. If the DIP switch is is in the RACK position, the Spectrum Controls 1746sc-INO4I analog current-only output module will draw its power from the backplane. Conversely, the EXT position specifies power supply from an external supply of 24 Volts DC.
It is important to note that even if using external power and setting the DIP switch to EXT, the Spectrum Controls 1746sc-INO4I analog current-only output module will continue to draw 5 Volts DC from the backplane (at near-zero current draw).
