The 1756-DH485 is a multi-purpose ControlLogix communication module that offers data highway 485 messaging and common industrial protocol (CIP) messaging with a connectivity feature to two independent DH-485 networks in a single module. The node address for the 1756-DH485 is in a range of zero (0) to 31.
The 1756-DH485 communication module has many prominent features such as capability of messages transmission between devices on DH-485 networks and other network devices like ControlNet/IP and DH-488 networks. It also bridges support to other NetLinx networks through the CLX gateway. The 1756-DH485 module can access other networks by using a routing table editor that can allow other DH-485 tools to use 1756-DH485 module and ControlLogix chassis. The module offers it support for all attributes and benefits of ControlLogix communication modules. It is a 4-character display module with a default controller slot feature for local messaging and has serial port configuration and no limit on number of modules per chassis, up to the number of available slots and capacity of power supply.
