An Allen Bradley product, the 1756-IT6I is a ControlLogix analog input module. The module is specifically designed to have inputs for millivolt temperature and thermocouple measurements. The module has the ability to be connected with any kind of ControlLogix chassis and this installation can either be in a remote I/O rack or in a local installation. This module also has the feature to be compatible with communication modules and ControlLogix processors of any kind. As it has thermocouple inputs, the module's temperature measuring capabilities are enhanced by the following capabilities: It has an accuracy that ranges from ±0.3 to 3.2  degrees Celsius and it depends on the channel used, for example, the accuracy is ±0.3°C when used with remote CJCs. Other capabilities include trap filter, multiple input ranges, under as well as over-range detection, real-time sampling, process alarm, digital filter, 10Ω offset, speed alarm, sensor type, broken wire detection, input signal conversion to user count, line length calculation and temperature units. The on-board module can store the received signals in two data formats which are in an integer format and the other is the floating point format. The input range for normal input is from -12 to 78 millivolts whereas for the high-resolution input is from -12 to 30 millivolts. The resolution of the module is16 bits and for the normal range i.e. -12 to 78 mV, each bit is represented by 1.4 microvolts whereas, for the high-resolution range i.e. from 12 to 30 mV, each bit is represented by 0.7 microvolts. It has surge protection that is up to 120 Volts of Alternating Current/Direct Current. The module also provides linearization of ITS-90 thermocouples.

Noise reduction function. 60 dB at 60 Hz in normal mode, 120 dB at 60 Hz and 100 dB at 50 Hz. Disconnection detection time is guaranteed to reach a positive full scale within 2 seconds. The module has a sampling time of 25 ms minimum for floating point (millivolts), 50 ms minimum for floating point (temperature) and 10 ms minimum for integers (millivolts). The module has an error of 0.5% of range and the conversion scheme of the module is sigma-delta. Maximum power consumption and total main board power is 4.3W and the module has a thermal output of 14.66 BTU/hr. Channel bandwidth is 15Hz (-3dB) and input impedance is 10MΩ. Current consumption is 250mA at 5.1V and 125mA at 24V. Rated gain drift is 65ppm/°C with a maximum of 80ppm/°C.
