The Allen-Bradley 1756-M02AE is a ControlLogix Servo Analog Encoder Module with quadrature feedback and two (2) axes. This device has current sinking input that is optically-isolated. The module can be installed on any ControlLogix chassis and at any slot to offer either closed or open-loop motion control. The 1756-M02AE supports thirty-two (32) axes. The unit dissipates a power of 5.5 Watts and a thermal power of 21.2 British Thermal Units (BTU) per hour. The device draws a backplane current of 700 milliamperes at a voltage of 5 Volts DC and 2.5 milliamperes at a voltage of 24 Volts DC. The 1756-M02AE provides a loop scan time of 250 microseconds for the speed and 500 microseconds for the position. The module has a floating-point gain resolution of 32-bit.

This unit supports a non-condensing relative humidity range from 5 percent to 95 percent and a vibration frequency range from 10 Hertz to 500 Hertz. The 1756-M02AE can be stored in a safe environment that should not be full of condensation or corrosion at a temperature from -40 degrees to 85 degrees Celsius (-40 degrees to 185 degrees Fahrenheit). The device draws a current of 1.2 Amperes at a voltage of 5 Volts DC. This module provides continuous electrical isolation of 50 Volts. The encoder module includes solid-state isolated relay contact outputs that support a voltage of 26.4 Volts DC and a current of 75 milliamperes. The 1756-M02AE operates at a temperature range from zero (0) degrees to 60 degrees Celsius (32 degrees to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) and weighs approximately 410 grams (0.9 pounds) while shipping.
