The 1756-RMC1 is a fiber optic cable that is made by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. This cable is used to connect ControlLogix redundancy modules and is included in the 1756-RMCx series of fiber optic cables. This component has a length of 3.28 feet (1 meter). It is compatible with modules in the standard series as well as the extreme environment XT models offered by Allen-Bradley. Up to two of these cables may be required for an assembly. This component needs to be ordered separately, as these connectors are not shipped with redundancy modules and chassis. Fiber optic cables of different lengths are available from the manufacturer and may be used depending on the specific user application. If required, the 1756-RM/B module supports a cable length of up to 4 kilometers (13,123.36 feet) and the 1756-RM2 module is rated for supported cable lengths up to 10 kilometers (32,808.40 feet). Other fiber optic cables available from Rockwell Automation in this series have lengths of 3 meters (9.84 feet) and 10 meters (32.81 feet) with catalog numbers 1756-RMC3 and 1756-RMC10 respectively. This cable has an LC-type of connector and has dimensions of 8.5/125 micron. It has a single mode operation type and uses one channel for transmission and data reception. The cable is connected in a downward orientation at the bottom of the module. Sharp bends in the cable should not be made in order to prevent damage to the optical fibers. The LC connector is provided to help prevent the cable from excessive bending.
