The 1761-L32BWB is a MicroLogix 1000 Programmable Controller manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation as part of the MicroLogix 100 series. This unit is a 32 input and output point controller with 20-point DC inputs, 12-point relay outputs, and a 24 Volts DC overall power supply voltage. The controller features an input voltage 14 – 30 volts DC and a 24 volts DC, 8.0 milliamps ON rating. The inputs have an OFF voltage of 5 volts with 1.5 milliamps maximum OFF current as well as 3 Kilo-ohms of nominal impedance. Allen Bradley 1761-L32BWB has an analog input with a voltage range of -10.5 to 10.5 volts DC and a current range of -21 to 21 milliamps. The analog input has 210 kilo-ohms of voltage input impedance with a current of 16 ohms and a 16-bit input resolution of less than < 0.002 percent non-linearity. Allen Bradley 1761-L32BWB controller has an overall accuracy of ±0.7% and an accuracy drift of ±0.176% with input voltage protection of 24 volt DC. The analog input has current overprotection of ±50 milliamps and 30 volts of isolation voltage tried at a voltage of 500 volts for 1 second between field wiring-to-Logic Isolation and input-to-output isolation. It also has a relay minimum output current load of 10.0 milliamps, and 10 milliseconds OFF-ON response time. The relay output of this controller has a contact rating of 2.0 amperes per point, with a Make Ampere a 1.2 amperes and 28 volt-amps of Make power. Allen Bradley 1761-L32BWB controller comes with an analog output voltage range of 0 – 10 volts DC and an output current range of 4 – 20 milliamps.

The operating temperature for 1761-L32BWB is 0 Celsius to +55 Celsius for horizontal mounting and 0 Celsius to +40 Celsius for vertical mounting. The storage temperature -40 Celsius to +85 Celsius. The power supply voltage is 20.4-26.4 Volts DC. The minimum spacing is greater than or equal to 50.8 millimeters (2 inches) on any side. When setting up the device, there is added flexibility to either mount the device in a vertical or horizontal fashion inside of the desired enclosure. This can be achieved by using a DIN rail or mounting screws. To ensure the stability of the controller, it is best to use mounting screws. To ensure proper operation, a vertically mounted controller should have the nameplate facing downwards. Outside noise due to electromagnetic interference may be a problem in solid-state control systems but this problem may be negated through the use of grounding. If grounding is necessary, the gauge of wire that should be used is the largest gauge of wire for controller wiring that is listed in the manual. When wiring the controller, the unit has the benefit of being able to be wired to facilitate the direct-current common terminal since the controller can be configured as sourcing or sinking. Sinking and sourcing are terms used to define the control of direct current flow in a load. A sinking digital I/O (input/output) provides a grounded connection to the load, whereas a sourcing digital I/O provides a voltage source to the load. Note that sinking-sourcing and sourcing-sinking pairing is always used, and never sourcing-sourcing or sinking-sinking.
