The 1762-L24AWAR is among the many PLC that is part of a family of MicroLogix 1200 products. It has a total of 14 and 10, 120 volts alternating current (AC) discrete inputs and relay output, respectively. On state and off state voltage are 79 volts alternating current (AC) and 132 volts alternating current (AC). The voltage range for the relay channel is 120 to 240 volts AC or 125 volts DC. This controller can be used to control discrete devices and integrate, known as on/off modes. Many devices are compatible with its input and output channels, such as sirens, starters, lamps, sensing elements, and sensors to name a few.

It has two extra ports, which include an RS-232/RS-485 port and a communication port. The RS-232/RS-485 port is used for communication between an HMI and DCS. The communication port is also called a secondary port that assists DF1 Full-Duplex protocol and is used to download and upload programs because this port does not have the facility to initiate messages of its own. A voltage range of 80 to 265 volts alternating current (AC) is required to power up this controller with a frequency range of 47 to 63 hertz.

It can take a surge current of 25 amperes for 8 milliseconds when operated at 120 volts AC, and when conducted at 240 volts alternating current (AC), this module can take 40 amperes. The maximum current that the 1762-L24AWAR controller can endure is 400 milliamperes at 5 volts DC, or 350 milliamperes at 24 volts DC.
