The Allen-Bradley 1769-IR6 is an analog RTD / resistance input module. It belongs to the CompactLogix series from Allen Bradley. It can be paired with industrial controllers from other lines of controllers, especially the MicroLogix 1500, and the 1769 CompactLogix. This input module can be connected to a distributed I/O rack. For this purpose, this module needs to be connected to the 1769-ADN DeviceNet or the 1769-AENTR Ethernet adapters. This unit has 6 RTD input channels available. The supported RTD types are Platinum 3916, Platinum 385, Nickel-Iron 518, Nickel 618, Nickel 672, and Copper 426.

This module accepts input in the following ranges: 0-150 Ohms, 0-500 Ohms, 0-1000 Ohms, 0-3000 Ohms, and the common-mode voltage range is limited to +/- 10 Volts (Direct Current). The 1769-IR6 draws 100 milliamperes at 5.1 Volts and 45 milliamperes at 24 Volts. It has a power dissipation rating of 1.5 Watts. The signals can be filtered at 10, 50, 60, 250, 500, 1000 Hertz. Each channel has short-circuit, open circuit, under-range, and over-range sensor detection. The 1769-IR6 can be mounted on a DIN. When mounted on a DIN, the operation shock absorption threshold is 20G, and the non-operating shock absorption threshold is 30G. And lastly, 5G is the operating shock for the relay. 

A panel-mounted unit has an operating shock of 30 G, a non-operating shock of 40 G, and a relay operating shock of 7.5 G. This module comes with one RTB. It can either be mounted on a DIN, or a panel. For either, this module must be placed inside an open enclosure. Its dimensions are 1.38 inches x 3.43 inches x 4.65 inches.
