Part number 1771-IBN was designed and manufactured by the company known as Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation. This device is a discrete input module and it is a part of the Bulletin 1771 series of products. This device communicates with external signaling components such as sensors, switches, and auxiliary connections. Aside from that, this module features four (4) sets of eight (8) inputs, for a total of thirty-two (32) input channels. The inputs have a direct current sink voltage range of 10 to 60 volts. At 10 volts DC, the nominal input range is 4.7 milliamperes and at 30 volts DC, it is 15.6 milliamperes. The 1771-IBN module's backplane current load is rated at 280 milliamperes at 5 volts DC, while the off-state current limit is 1.7 milliamperes. This item has a power dissipation rating of 15.6 watts and a thermal dissipation value of 53.3 BTU per hour. The 1771-IBN provides input filtering to increase signal quality and insulation to protect module circuits from electrical transients. On the front panel, there are 32 status indicators, each dedicated to a different channel. The module includes an open-type enclosure and keying bands to assist guide it into the correct slot in a 1771 I/O chassis with a PLC processor. It has a wire arm model 1771-WN that allows module changing without disconnecting the wiring. The 1771-IBN is a module of the series C family. It supports 12 and 1-slot I/O addressing. The module is intended to work with both panel-switching and source-switching devices.
