Allen Bradley 1771-IFE is a PLC 5 Analog Input Module manufactured as part of the PLC 5 product line. It interfaces the analog inputs with PLC processors through a block transfer programming. The module uses a power voltage range of -10 to 10 volts DC, with a current range of -20 to 20 milliamps. It features a backplane current load of 750 milliamps with a channel update time of 36 milliseconds for 16 channels, 8 milliseconds for 8 channels, and 12 bits plus sign resolution. The 1771-IFE interface module comes with a maximum power dissipation of 2.5 watts with a thermal dissipation of 8.52 BTU per hour. It also has a wiring arm that replaces the module, thus eliminating the need to have the wiring disconnected. This module uses 16-bit resolution and executes the necessary analog-to-digital conversions as well as vice versa to interface analog signals with the values of PLC data table. In any case, the input communication is interrupted; it can automatically respond to the fault through the default user configuration. Hence, it offers a predictable, safe response to the faults and also limits the amount of fault. It needs one slot for installation in the input and output chassis as well as keying bands for accurate installation between the pins 24 and 26 for the upper connector and pins 10 and 12 for the lower connector. Allen Bradley 1771-IFE Analog Input Module has a wide range of applications, including level sensing, temperature, flow metering, and pressure sensing. Besides, it also contains 8 differential selectable or 16 single-ended inputs.

The Allen Bradley 1771-IFE PLC 5 analog input module has nominal input voltage ranges that include 1 to 5 volts DC, 0 to 5 volts DC, -5 to 5 volts DC, -10 to 10 volts DC, and 0 to 10 volts DC. Additionally, this device has nominal input current ranges that include 4 to 20 milliamperes, 0 to 20 milliamperes, and -20 to 20 milliamperes. The linearity and repeatability of this analog input module is plus or minus (+/-) 1 LSB. In voltage mode, the Allen Bradley 1771-IFE has an input overvoltage protection rated at 200 volts. However, in current mode, the input overvoltage protection of this device is rated at 8 volts. Additionally, the input overcurrent protection of this product is rated at 30 milliamperes. The common mode voltage rating of this device is plus or minus (+/-) 14.25 volts, while the common mode rejection rating is rated at 80 decibels (dB) with a DC input at 120 hertz.

When operating the Allen Bradley 1771-IFE analog input module, it is important for the temperature of the surrounding area to range from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius, or the equivalent temperature range of 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. However, when this device needs to be stored, the temperature of the surrounding area should range from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius, or -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit. The relative humidity levels suitable for this product's operation ranges from 5% to 95% non-condensing, while the relative humidity levels suitable for this device to stored ranges from 5% to 85% non-condensing.
