The 1771-OAD is an Allen-Bradley Digital Alternating Current (AC) Output Module. The 1771-OAD Output Module uses a zero-crossing system; this feature lets the 1771-OAD module turn itself on if the output system voltage falls lower than the desired amount, which has been specified. This voltage is usually somewhere between 40 to 50 Volts Alternating Current. The Allen-Bradley 1771-OAD Digital Alternating Current Output Module also dramatically reduces pressure on contacts as well as other devices which may be sensitive to an unanticipated current surge. The 1771-OAD is also very compatible with some other Allen-Bradley chassis, this excludes the following chassis’s 1771-A1, 1771-A2, and finally the 1771-A4.
The 1771-OAD has a output range of 10 to 138 Volts Alternating Current (AC) operating at a frequency of 47 to 63 Hertz with an output current rating of 2 Amperes. The minimum load of the 1771-OAD is 5 Milliampere, with a maximum off state leakage current is 3.0 Milliampere at 138 Volts Alternating Current (AC). The 1771-OAD has a power dissipation of 13 Watts maximum and a 1.5 Watts minimum. This Allen-Bradley 1771-OAD Digital Alternating Current Output Module has a thermal dissipation of 48 British Thermal Units per hour (BTU/h) at maximum and a minimum thermal dissipation threshold of 5.13 British Thermal Units per hour (BTU/h). When using the 1771-OAD Digital Alternating Current Output module with a device that has a single diode in a series with a load, you must place an appropriate shunt resistor of 1 Watt power rating and 39 kilo-ohms resistance. This resistor confers the ability for proper output operations.
