The Allen-Bradley 1771-P3 PLC 5 is a single slot power supply module with a rated current power of 120 volts alternating current and it is located on the 1771 Input/Output chassis, providing power to it. The required voltage at 0.42 amperes is 120 which is sourced externally and is tailored with a soft start functionality that aids in enhancing the reliability of the power supply on the backplane. The voltage of input ranges from 97 to 132 volts alternating current (root mean square) at 50 to 60 hertz with a 23 watts input requirement in order to function optimally. The 1771-P3 provides isolation for circuits for about one second at 2160 volts direct current and protects circuits through the Bussman method detection limit 1 glass fuse and a 1 Ampere, 125 Volts alternating current Slow Blow Fuse.

When operational, this device has a direct current of 5.06 volts (plus or minus 3.8 percent), a 5 volts direct current voltage output with a 3-ampere current, and a max heat dissipated of 8 watts. A copper wire conduction is utilized by the 1771-P3 with a wire size of 14 AWG and 3/64-inch (1.2 millimeters) thick insulation. It also provides branch circuit safety that is user-supplied at 15 amperes and includes a max torque of 7 pounds per inch for the terminal block screw. The delay of input signals on the 1771-P3 is 13.5 milliseconds (plus or minus 3.6 milliseconds), and a sixty-ampere transformer option is utilized with it. The module's operational temperature range is 0 to 60 degrees Celsius, and it must be utilized at a non-condensing relative humidity of 5 to 95 percent.
