The Allen-Bradley 1791-0A32 is an output module that has 32 output channels. The output channels are separated in 4 groups with 8 channels. That is important, because we can separate AC and DC loads. Also every channel can be configured separately using laptop or handheld programmer. The 1791-0A32 can communicate successfully, using remote I/O protocol, with many processors through remote I/O scanners so that main processor and I/O module can be at remote locations, not in the same rack as it was before. This is the network principle in design, but the new design carries with it some new precautions. The maximum output rating is 600 milliamperes operating at 30 degrees Celsius when the device is mounted vertically and 300 milliamperes when operating at the same temperature but with horizontal mounting. System engineer must take care about inrush and continuous load currents in order not to exceed above ratings. The surge (inrush) current is limited to 10 amperes/50 milliseconds, minimum on-state current is 50 milliamperes per output, and output signal delay is 1 millisecond from off to on state but 8.3 milliseconds from on to off state (important for some applications). The output voltage range of this product is twenty to one hundred and thirty-two (20 to 132) volts AC (alternating current) at a frequency range of forty-seven to sixty-three (47 to 63) hertz. The power dissipation is 31.3 watts max and the thermal disspiation is 106.73 BTU/hr max. The recommended temperature range for this product's operation is zero to sixty (0 to 60) degrees Celsius. The dimensions of this device measure 176.5 mm x 110.5 mm x 98 mm.
