The Allen-Bradley 1794-IB16 supports a wide range of applications. This discrete module supports third-party digital and analog modules, as well as a number of specialized industrial modules. Thanks to the RIUP (removal and insertion under power) feature, users can change modules and connect cables while the system is running. Flex I/O-XTTM extreme environment modules are compatible with the ControlLogix-XTTM severe environment system and are rated for -20 to 70 degrees Celsius (-4 to 158 degrees Fahrenheit).
Each I/O module requires a terminal base for I/O wire connection points. The module has a total number of sixteen (16) inputs. All of the sixteen (16) input ports are sinking type. This discrete module is compatible with a variety of terminal base units such as the 1794-TB3, the 1794-TB3S, the 1794-TB3K, the 1794-TB3SK, the 1794-TBKD, and the 1794-TB37DS. The nominal on-stage voltage is around twenty-four (24) volts direct current (DC) and eight (8) milliamperes is the nominal on-stage current. Similarly, the nominal off-stage voltage and current is five (5) volts direct current and 1.5 milliamperes with a nominal input impedance is 4.6k Ω. The isolation voltage is fifty (50) volts and the FlexBus current is about thirty (30) milliamperes at five (5) volts direct current.
The Allen-Bradley 1794-IB16 can be paired with other communication adapters in any industrial setting. The Allen-Bradley 1794-IB16 is compatible with multiple communication adapters. The DeviceNet adapter, the Ethernet adapter, the Remote I/O adapter, the ControlNet adapter, and the Profibus communication adapter are all compatible communication adapters with this discrete input module.
