The Allen-Bradley 1794-TB3GS Grounded Spring Clamp Terminal Base Unit component is a 36 I/O point terminal base unit that can be mounted on a DIN Rail or a panel mount on the opposite side of an I/O adapter to provide connection points for input/output wiring. The 1794-TB3GS terminal bases serve as connecting points for the I/O wire and may be connected together to build a backplane by simply plugging them together. Single-ended, non-isolated, HART-enabled inputs are provided, as are non-isolated RTD/thermocouple inputs with enhanced temperature ranges on this terminal base module.

The module has a continuous isolation voltage of 50 volts maximum across field wiring terminals and FLEXBUS. Moreover, this Spring Clamp Terminal Base unit has a maximum current value of 2 amperes, as well as a maximum rated voltage of 31.2 volts DC. The power supply for this terminal base has a rated voltage of 5 volts DC and current draws of 640 milliamperes, and a V/COM terminal rating of 10 amperes at 31.1 volts AC/DC at 50/60 hertz.

Operational temperatures vary from -20 to 55 degrees Celsius (-4 to 131 degrees Fahrenheit), whereas non-operational temperatures range from -20 to 85 degrees Celsius (-4 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit) for this terminal base module. According to the IEC standard, the approved vibration tolerance is 5 G across 10 to 500 Hz, and the operational shock is 30 G. The wire size for this terminal base unit is 0.34 to 3.3 mm² (or 22 to 12 rated AWG). Its maximum strip length for insulating is 5-6 millimeters (0.20 to 0.24 inches).
