This 140M-C2E-C16 by Allen-Bradley is part of the 140M series protection circuit breaker for the motors. The 140M motor protector circuit breakers (MPCBs) are developed for use with the Allen-Bradley 100-C contactor line to enable Type 2 coordination without oversizing the contactor and are available in ratings up to 22 kilowatts. This guarantees that starters are more cost-effective. The breaker can be customized to meet specific needs.

It can handle multiple tasks including motor branch circuit disconnecting, manual switching, overload thermal protection, branch-circuit protection using magnetic protection methods, and short-circuit. The 140M-C2E-C16 circuit breaker has an operational current rating of 16 amperes. It has a standard break interrupting breaking capability. The device has adaptable thermal as well as fixed magnetic protection system. The motor current can be adjusted from 10 to 16 amperes. Magnetic trip current is rated at 208 amperes.

The maximum short circuit current rating is 65 kiloamperes at 400 volts and 30 kiloamperes ratings at 480 volts. For 3-phase operation, the maximum horsepower (Hp) ratings are 5 Hp at a voltage level of 200 volts, 5 Hp at 230 volts, 10 Hp at 460 volts, and 15 Hp at 575 volts. In terms of maximum kilowatt power at the output, the 140M-C2E-C16 circuit breaker can deliver 4 kilowatts of output power at 230 volts, 7.5 kilowatts of output power at 400/415 volts, 10 kilowatts of output power at 500 volts, and 13 kilowatts of output power at 690 volts. This device has physical dimensions that measure 91 mm x 45 mm x 54.9 mm.
