Part number 42SRP-6032-QD is a photoelectric sensor, manufactured by Allen Bradley. The device is part of the PHOTOSWITCH Series 6000 general purpose compact photoelectric sensors. The unit has an infrared sensing beam with a diameter of 880 nanometers. Its sensing mode is sharp cut-off diffuse, which is technology used in space limited areas for short range application. This device does not require a reflector and it is easy to install and align. This is particularly useful in conveyor applications, where the unit can detect moving items in one conveyor and disregards the items in the adjacent conveyor. The sensor operates at maximum margin in sensing distance from 5 millimeters (0.2 inches) to 76 millimeters (3 inches).

It has a power supply of 24 volts DC and can accept input range of 10 to 30 volts DC. The maximum current consumption is equal to 35 milliamperes. The unit has both PNP and NPN outputs and each of these outputs provides 200 milliamperes. The sensor operating mode is light operated. The output is ON energized in case the receiver sees sufficient light from the light source. The device response time will not exceed 1 millisecond. Its connector is of type 4-pin Micro QD. It has a LED indicator, which turns on red when the sensor output is activated and off dark when is output is off. To prevent the unit from excessive vibration malfunction, it is recommended to use supplementary mounting brackets. The sensor occupies a compact cylindrical package of 66 x 31.8 x 20.4 millimeters (2.60 x 1.25 x 0.81 inches).
