The 440N-S32054 is a Guardmaster non-contact interlock switch from SIPHA, a product family of Rockwell Automation. The switch includes one Normally Closed safety contact, one Normally Open safety contact, one Normally Open Auxiliary contact, Sipha Sensor, S43, a Stainless Steel housing, and a PVC cable of 10 meters in length. This interlock switch can protect the equipment and personnel by providing interlocking of equipment and guard doors. The interlocking feature will allow access to potentially hazardous areas only when it is completely safe. These non-contact switches also feature the latest generation of inductive technology for sensing and RFID technology for coding. It has a wide sensing range and tolerance against misalignment.
These switches are a very cost-effective solution to several industrial safety applications. These non-contact interlocking switches include molded-in brackets, which are very easy to install and extremely versatile in application. The Sipha Sensor of the switch needs to be connected to the Sipha Control unit providing a high integrity system. Multiple sensors and mechanical switches can be connected to the control unit of this switch for other applications. The switch can operate with its own control unit and includes four (4) different housing styles. The switch uses magnetic coded sensing for locking purpose and has a non-contact actuation. The installation of the switch must be in accordance with the manual and specifications and should be carried out by skilled and competent personnel. Guard stops and guides need to be properly fitted and it should not be used with a mechanical stop.
