Allen Bradley designed and produced the 592-EUTB. This device is an overload relay, which offers manual reset capability. This module is intended for use with a Bulletin 500 series starter. Three (3) heating elements are required for installation on NEMA contactors with 500 line capacity.  A product of Bulletin 592, eutectic alloy overload relays are thermal type devices that protect the motor controller as well as power wiring from overheating caused by excessive overcurrent. When used in conjunction with proper short-circuit protection, these relays provide protection against overheating caused by excessive overcurrent. Even though the reset button is pushed, the overload protection provided by the trip-free mechanism is maintained.

The overload relay, when used in conjunction with the appropriate short circuit protection, is meant to secure the motor, motor controlling system, and power cable from overheating as a result of extreme overcurrent consumption. Each and every one of the Bulletin 592 block category relays is equipped with an optical indication that illuminates when the relay has been tripped. An overload relay of the Bulletin 592 series is equipped with a manual contact test module as a standard feature.

It is possible to apply voltages of up to 1500 volts to this device. This module has been UL registered, as well as CSA approved. The block style of Bulletin 592 series overload relays may include one (1) auxiliary contact that is normally closed (NC), which may be installed in the field. The contact test unit is physically replaced by this additional contact module.
