The 1492-IFM20F-F24-2 is an Allen-Bradley interface module. This module has a voltage rating that ranges from 10 volts to 30 volts AC/DC. The current at maximum value for the interface module is 12 amperes, whereas the circuit maximum current is 2 amperes. The device is integrated with indicators whose circuit current is 20 milliamperes. It is necessary to ensure that the current and the voltage rating of the device is not exceeded. When this interface module is used alongside a heavy-duty relay, the use surge suppression is required. Connection of the IFM to other electrical devices is through plug in connections for the control side. The field side employs a screw type of connection. The mounting type is by DIN rail that is 35 millimeters. The peak voltage is 600 volts and is recurring. Note that, for transient voltage that is greater than 600 volts, a suppression device that is UL certified should be employed. The suppression device should be rated 25 kilovolts.

The interface module IFM should be operated at temperatures that are between 0 degrees to 60 degrees Celsius and relative humidity should be maintained between 5 percent and 95 percent that is non-condensing. The temperature code at 60 degrees Celsius is T3C. The physical dimensions of this device are approximately 34.3 mm x 29 mm x 38 mm (height x width x depth). The device is tested in the Underwriter laboratories and, therefore, certifies the Canadian and U.S product requirements. It is also CE and FM certified.
