The 4100-234-R is a Compact Motion Controller manufactured by Allen Bradley/Rockwell Automation as part of the IMC S Class series. This unit is a microprocessor-based motion controller that comes with 4 axes as well as remote input and output option but without axis link option. The module uses Intel i960 microprocessor along with 16 MHz processor speed and a multitasking operating system with a maximum of 10 tasks at a given time. The 4100-234-R controller uses an AC power input supply with an input voltage of 90 – 132 volts AC at of 47 – 63-hertz frequency, input current of 3 amperes, and 5 – 40 volts DC I/O input power supply (24 Volts nominal), at 3 amperes maximum current, along with 3 amperes, ¼ × 1¼ ratio slow-blow fuse. It has a remote I/O option, which allows for easy and smooth communication with various devices through the remote I/O adapters. Allen Bradley 4100-234-R compact motion controller allows for direct connection to the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) through a discrete or block transfers. The module features 4 isolated configurable analog outputs as well as a control resolution of 6 bits, 305µV and a selectable output range of ±10 volts DC or ±150 milliamps, with a maximum offset voltage output of ±80 millivolts at a voltage resistance of 220 ohms. The 4100-234-R controller can be used with the flex I/O modules to offer a wider discrete input and output features. It supports a maximum of 8 flex I/O modules, which can be connected to the controller to provide a maximum of 128 discrete I/O points.
