The Allen-Bradley 20A-DG01 is a highly effective safety option that can be used in conjunction with alternating current drives that have adjustable frequency characteristics to improve the safety levels of the control system. The device provides a Safe Torque Off option that uses an optocoupler blockage to protect the components of the system. When the communication channels that connect the speed control drives to the mechanical components of the motor are disconnected, this device stops the frequency modulation process and prevents electrical power from being supplied to the motor. This can potentially prevent the components of the automation system from being damaged due to surges in electrical power from specific sources in the control system. This option can also be used to protect drives that have variable frequency characteristics.

The Allen-Bradley 20A-DG01 is primarily used in electrical circuits that ensure the speed control of the rotating components of the system with the help of alternating current drives that belong to Rockwell Automation’s PowerFlex Series.
