Part number P29 is a heater element. Designed and manufactured by the company known as Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation, this product was designed to be used with thermal overload relays. This product can also be used with the line starters featured in the Bulletin 100, 500, 609, and 1200 product series. This unit is most commonly known as a eutectic alloy heater element or an overload relay heater element. This Allen Bradley product is a Type J device. Additionally, this product is classified as a size C heater element. Eutectic overload relays utilize a eutectic alloy, which is housed in a tube and connected to a heater winding. The heater winding heats the alloy as the supply current to the motor flows through it. When the alloy reaches a high enough temperature, it transforms into a liquid.

The protection class of the Allen Bradley P29 thermal overload heater element is ten (10). Its trip duration is ten (10) seconds or less at a current equal to six hundred percent (600%) of its rating. The full load current of this thermal overload heater element is 5.43 amperes. The ambient temperature rating suitable for the controller is forty (40) degrees Celsius. Likewise, the ambient temperature rating for the motor is forty (40) degrees Celsius. Aside from that, the service factor of this electronic overload relay device is either greater than or equal to 1.15. The Allen Bradley P29 thermal overload heater element is has numerous certifications. These certifications include CSA and UL.
