The Emerson - GE Fanuc IC600WD005 is an I/O expansion cable for the Series 6 PLC systems. This cable has a length of 5 meters, or the equivalent of 1.5 feet. The cable’s conductor size is specified at 22 AWG, and its external diameter measures 11.8 ± 0.5 millimeters, or 0.465 ± 0.020 inches. This I/O cable consists of 16 twisted pair wires with overall shielding. The conductor pairs are color-coded for convenient identification and troubleshooting. The cable is designed with two (2) 37-Pin D-Type connectors (one male, one female connector). The male connector end of the cable typically connects to the upstream module, whereas the female connector end connects to the downstream module. The connectors come with a removable screw-on shell for easier insertion and connection to a module. The expansion cable jacket is composed of PVC material allowing for a 300-volt insulation rating. This cable can operate within temperatures of -20 ºC to 80 ºC.

The IC600WD005 I/O expansion cable is designed to provide rack to rack electrical continuity for the parallel I/O Bus in local, central processor unit (CPU) and remote I/O stations. It is compatible with Series 90-70 programmable controllers by GE Fanuc. Additional benefits of the I/O expansion cable include increased flexibility in Series 6 setups and simplified troubleshooting. The expansion cable can also be used to link a local I/O station to a CPU or another local I/O station on the Bus. The cable is specifically designed for a GE Fanuc I/O control module, I/O receiver and transmitter modules, auxiliary I/O module, and the downstream port of a remote receiver I/O module.
