The IC600YB804 unit, created by General Electric (GE) Fanuc and belonging to the module series of GE Series Six line, is an input module that is rated at 115 volts alternating current/direct current (AC/DC) rated with 8-points. Error conditions are of 3 kinds and are monitored by the input module of IC600YB804, which is faults in the I/O racks downstream continuity and the Daisy-chain power, faulty parity of the CPU's data output, and the faulty CPU output parity of data-driven via an input / output transmitter module, which other modules functioning as I/O receivers detect downstream. LEDs, or light emitting diodes, are provided for each input as indicators, providing visibility via the module's faceplate, and the indicators turn off when the IC600YB804 input module detects errors. The additional module function is as a troubleshooting aid. The module is compatible with the Logic Master 6 programming software, which is a DOS, or a disk operating system-based, programming software that provides full access and support to the instructions. The tools of the software are embedded. This programming software can be used with GE’s Work Master or Work Master II Computer, CIMSTAR, and IBM personal computers.

The IC600YB804 has an input module that comes with eight (8) circuits. The circuits are designed in a way that allows the module to receive a signal that is individual and discrete via user-supplied devices. Pushbuttons, switches, selector switches, and relay contacts are common input devices provided for the input module of IC600YB804. The 8 circuits are isolated from each other on the input module of IC600YB804, depending on the alternating current (AC) source of power. All input / output modules can have a common isolation fault that isn't relative to the optical-coupler noise-fault. All inputs on the input module of IC600YB804 have two (2) terminals which allow for the module to have distinct alternating current (AC) sources of power, which means every input has different power phases.
