The IC660BBD120 is an Input and Output block that comes with 12 inputs and four outputs. It provides direct processing of immediate pulse signals up to 200 KHz for industrial control applications like motion control, velocity measurement, etc. Direct processing means that the block can sense inputs, count, and respond to outputs, without requiring communication with a CPU. The block provides 1, 2, or 4 counters of varying complexity of four identical, independent simple counters, two similar independent counters of acceptable complexity, and one complex counter.
The user can effortlessly software configure the I/O block to count up or down, count both up and down, or count the distinction between fluctuating values. At the top of the I/O block is a collection of LEDs with the top two LEDs displaying unit status and communication status with the CPU. The bottom four LEDs display the ON/OFF status for every output. Operating temperature ranges from 0-60 degrees Celsius, and the recommended storage temperature is -40 to 60 degrees Celsius. The input impedance is 4 Kilohms and input response time of 0.5 milliseconds. The block must be configured with a Hand-held Monitor to: enter its Device Number (serial bus address), enter its Reference Number (required only for IC600 and IC550 series PLCs only), and enter its counter type (A, B, or C). Terminals 5 to 46 are for field devices and 1 to 4 are for the serial bus. Outputs can be used to drive indicating lights, solenoids, relays, and other devices. Each output has an acknowledgment delay of 1 millisecond (maximum).
