In the GE Fanuc made RSTi I/O system, the ST-4214 analog output unit is a 4-channel, 12-bit analog output device. This module is a member of the RSTi distributed I/O system's analog I/O module range, which is meant to provide high performance, higher uptime, and low-cost I/O solutions. On the front board of this module, there is an LED (light emitting diode) light that indicates the condition of the RSTi bus, as well as a color-coded label that makes it easier to identify the device. The output control of the ST-4214 analog output unit is accomplished via the use of a 24-volt DC user-supplied power supply. With an acceptable functioning output voltage range of 18 to 28.8 volts DC, as well as a maximum current rating of 60 milliamperes at 24 volts DC, this device is an excellent choice for many applications. It is advised that operators use a cable with a square cross-section of 2 millimeters for module cabling. This product provides photo coupler style isolation between both the I/O and control logic. Individually separated and with independent commons, the ST-4214 output module offers four (4) single-ended output channels on each of its four (4) output channels. In all, there are 12 output points with an output range of 3.9 milliamperes per bit and an output current ranging from 4 to 20 milliamperes for each of them. The output data is received from the controller in a 16-bit format. The total conversion time for this module is 4 milliseconds.
