This network adapter has an open-style IP20 enclosure. Please note that this enclosure is not appropriate for use outside. The STXPBS001 is an Emerson-GE Fanuc slave network adapter. It's a communication interface built specifically to connect a ProfiBus industrial automation network to an RSTi programmable logic controller module. This module is useful in that it bridges the PLCs with the network for not only the communication but also configuration of resources and processing of industrial data. It uses a DC power supply with a voltage rating of 24 volts. Since it can integrate up to 32 modules into the system, it offers users flexibility and adaptability. It also has a 60 milliampere nominal current rating. Its I/O bus can provide a maximum current of 5 amperes while operating at 5 volts DC. Further, because the ProfiBus network is one of the most widely used industrial communication systems, it is essential for upgrading industrial control systems. Furthermore, this slave network adapter is built in an open style with an IP 20 environmental protection grade. As a result, the manufacturer strongly recommends that the device be maintained in a climate-controlled environment at all times, with the temperature being between -20 and 60 degrees Celsius (-4 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit). Moreover, it is an advanced electronic device requiring special care to avoid electrostatic discharge, so users should avoid ESD incidents. The usage of grounded wrist straps is strongly advised in such a case. In addition, users should also keep this network adapter from contaminants that might damage this module and ensure that its temperature ratings do not exceed the limits set originally by the manufacturer.
