This is the IC694BEM320 I/O Link Interface module. It is a standard RX3i module made by General Electric Fanuc and is part of the 90-70 series. This module operates as a slave device on the network. It connects to the Fanuc I/O Link network for remote input output operations. It supports 32 or 64 input data transfer with the master device connected to it on the network. The input data transfer type is selectable using a jumper cable. The unit is set to 32 by default from the manufacturer. The Fanuc CNC and Power Mate devices can be used as the master device. PACSystems controllers as well as programmable logic controllers from the 90-70 series can also act as the master device as long as they are equipped with an I/O Link Master module. This module occupies one slot in the chassis. It supports installation in any backplane slot inside an RX3i system. The number of modules installed per system depends on the power supply capacity that is installed in the system. This unit has two integrated LEDs that convey the system status and power status. The module has an operating input voltage of plus five volts. The input current draw varies with the adapters that are connected to the module. The base module draws 205 milliamperes of current. With the addition of the Optical Adapter, the current draw increases to 405 milliamperes. The module contains two 20-pin connectors for attaching the Link I/O cable. The signal levels meet RS-422 and 485 standards.
